Capricorn new moon 23.12.22

The new moon in Capricorn happens simultaneously on the same day that Chiron comes out of his retrograde journey, just a couple of days after the winter solstice. This connection pinpoints a moment of profound closure as we enter the new cycle, and a deep call to look within.

Those few days around the new moon will be calling us to notice anything that's still lingering in our energetic field or waiting to be released. While this could stir a lot of emotions, Capricorn is gifting us the power to connect with the healing that has taken place from a place of balance and surety.

There are definite changes taking place now, within and around us to place us exactly where we need to be as we enter into a new calendar year. This is even more reason why we may be seeing some heavy matters come to a close, particularly those linked to emotional wounds we have been working through.

The new moon brings the numerology of number 5 which is synchronistic with this idea of change and transition and releasing things from the past. The 5 is a moment of shifting from the past to the present, giving us a new sense of clarity and direction to move forward. As with any changes that occur in our lives there may be conflict that comes along with that, but if we tap into the grounding and adaptable energy of Capricorn, we can flow much more easily through this transition.

Capricorns animal representation of the Sea goat gives us a healthy reminder that we are capable, just like him, to stay grounded whilst also flowing with and through, whatever comes our way. Being grounded doesn't mean staying still, but simply embodying a sense of acceptance and trust in the way in which things unfold so that we don't resist or create further stress for ourselves in the process.

Capricorn is ambitiously confident, and with the sun also sitting in this sign, this is a beautiful aspect we can lean into under the new moon, as our minds are likely drawn to the start of a new year and what that may bring for us.

As much as I believe that the real new year begins in spring, as it does in nature, we have lived by the Gregorian calendar for a long time and the sense of a new year approaching is still etched into our psyche as we see December coming to a close. Bearing this in mind, this is a great new moon to set some ambitious goals for 2023, but also be realistic and practical in terms of how much and how quickly you hope to achieve things.

We are still attuned to the call to slow down and rest as we continue through the winter months so we should take this time to be alone with ourselves and process all the changes that have taken place as well as consider with clarity where we are heading next; setting up practical steps to lead us towards our goals.
